    Detox Lymphatic System

Not exercising as much as we should, not drinking as much water as we should, and taking medications causes our lymphatic system to clog up.

If you find yourself feeling sluggish and need a detox, getting Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) or Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) are powerful ways to purge toxins from your body.  Lymphatic therapy can set your body on a pathway to health and healing.

By flushing waste from the body’s tissues through Lymphatic Drainage, you will feel revitalized and energetic.

    Heal Faster.  Heal Better.

    Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Helps You Heal Faster After Surgery

    SURGERY DISRUPTS THE
NATURAL FLOW OF OUR LYMPHATIC SYSTEM.

Following surgery the body brings fluid to the injured area to create a natural type of splint.  This causes extreme tenderness in the skin in that area.

Lymphatic therapy helps move this fluid away from the surgical site.  Getting lymphatic fluid moving again carries away wastes produced by cellular breakdown from tissues that were damaged through incisions.  This speeds up the healing process.

    PEMF Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy is used to help heal surgical wounds quicker.  PEMF  Therapy assists the cells in getting the food they need while simultaneously helping them to expel waste.  By ensuring cells are getting properly fed it provides more energy, this speeds their ability to reproduce meaning that tissues damaged in surgery can regrow quicker.  Pain and swelling are also reduced.

  • Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) Therapy

Fibromyalgia affects approximately 10 million people in the US (most of whom are women).  Although scientists are working to find out exactly what causes Fibromyalgia, there is not a general consensus.

What is known is that lymphatic drainage assists with pain management and the improvement of sleep.

    Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome does not have an agreed-upon cause.  It is often thought that viral infections, immune system problems, and high stress levels may be to blame.

Persons with CFS are unable to feel rested even when they sleep, have enlarged lymph nodes, along with unexplained muscle and joint pain.

One of the most recent promising discoveries in CFS showed that the central nervous system’s protective fluid called cerebral spinal fluid drains into the lymphatic system.  This is how the fluid is cleaned.

By encouraging the cerebrospinal fluid’s natural cleaning process, the “garbage” that causes the irritation of the neurological system is reduced.

Therapies

  • Unclog Your Lymph, Jumpstart Your Health

    Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle hands-on technique that resembles (but is actually very different than) a massage.  It uses very specific techniques to move lymph along the lymphatic vessels to return it to the circulatory system.

One of lymph’s main jobs is to take waste from the tissues and return it to the bloodstream so that it can be processed by the liver and excreted by the kidneys.

It is a gentle, but very powerful technique that has an extremely strong detoxifying effect on the body.

    Electro-Lymphatic Therapy

Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) does essentially the same thing as Manual Lymphatic Drainage but it has the distinct advantage of being able to change the consistency of lymph from gelatinous to water-like, allowing it to flow more easily.

ELT uses a machine that emits a very faint, entirely painless electro-static discharge which causes lymph to be less “sticky.”

  • Therapeutic Massage

A Therapeutic Massage means you come to the therapist with the purpose of resolving a specific complaint like a spasm in your lower back or a pinch in the neck as opposed to a “spa” massage which is purely for relaxation. (This does not mean that therapeutic massage isn’t relaxing.  It’s just more goal-oriented.)

    Therapeutic Massage Includes:
    • Assessment – This is a question and answer session to help the therapist gain insight into the cause of the problem you are experiencing.  The therapist will want to know the history of the pain, therapies you have had previously, and what activities exacerbate the pain.  You may be asked to move the affected part of the body to let the therapist find restrictions.
    • Treatment Plan – After the assessment the therapist will have an idea of what areas of the body need to be released.  This often includes areas that don’t hurt but that are causing the pain.
    • Therapeutic Massage – The massage, or therapy, is then performed to help correct the cause of the pain.
    • Evaluation – Following your session, you will be asked to report the changes that you notice such as reduced pain, improved mobility, etc. Your therapist will then suggest a plan for therapy including suggested frequency and duration of treatment.

    Medical Massage

Medical Massage is very similar to therapeutic massage, but it modifies of standard massage therapy techniques to safely work with various medical conditions.

  • Reduce Chronic Pain.  Speed Healing.

    PEMF Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency (PEMF) Therapy is a decades-old researched and proven technology that is used for everything from tissue regeneration (post-operatively) to reducing inflammation throughout the body.

PEMF Therapy is a painless and effective way to reduce pain and inflammation after injury or surgery.  It facilitates the repair of damage bone and soft tissue through improved circulation, tissue oxygenation, and enhanced nutrient uptake.
